TURPENTINE

Plant-based product, it comprises the most volatile fraction obtained from the distillation, by water or steam, of the wood and buds of different types of pine (maritime pine, Scots pine, marsh pine, etc.). The product is widely used as a solvent or thinner in the paint and lacquer industry, specially for products based on drying oils, in the preparation of encaustics, creams for footwear, waxes, fine arts and household uses. Thanks to its high solvent power, turpentine can also be used to clean surfaces, brushes, equipment or spray guns with still-wet paints or lacquers.
